In ancient times when the Pharaohs ruled there were
expectations of his/her people. Althought the Pharaoh had great wealth and
lesure there was also great responsibility. The Pharaoh was expected
to:
* Make sure the nile flooded
* Make sure there was enough food for the people to eat.
* Make sure the gods looked kindly on the people
* Make sure Egypts armys could defend Egypt aganist any enemies
The word Pharaoh was used by the ancient Egyptians to describe the ruler because it was disrespectful to address them by their own name
The Pharaoh was a very powerful person, So powerful that he decided what the law was and people believed that he made laws for the whole
entire universe. The Pharaoh was known a god People believed that they descended from Re the sun God and that of the God
Hatshepsut:
Hatshepsut was one of very liitle who ended up to be a phraroh. Another name also known as was "The Great Royal Wife" the wife of
Thutmose II (her half-brother). She was treated as a god and ruled from 1501 BC to 1483 BC. She is acknowleded today as one of the greatest pharaohs. In 2007 it was announced that the body of hatshepsut was found
